Cookie policy
Last updated: 14 October 2026
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used by the TripVera website, operated by TripVera Ltd (CRN 17518623). For more about how personal data is handled, see our Privacy policy.
1. What we use
The website uses browser storage and a small amount of local script rather than a large set of marketing cookies. There are two categories:
- Essential storage required for the website to work. This cannot be disabled through the website without affecting functionality.
- Optional analytics used to understand site usage, which runs only if you accept it through the consent banner.
2. Essential technologies
- Supabase session storage in local storage (keys prefixed with "sb-") to keep you signed in.
- TripVera session ("tvSession") recording your display name and email for the navigation bar and account tools.
- Saved trip briefs ("tripveraBriefs") stored locally in your browser so you can reopen briefs you have saved.
- Consent choice ("tvConsent") recording whether you accepted or rejected optional analytics.
- Landmark image cache in local storage (keys prefixed with "tv:img:") to avoid repeatedly downloading country landmark photos.
These are stored on your device until cleared. We also use standard browser storage while the planner or account tools are open (for example, theme and particle settings such as "tvGasColor" and "tvParticleFx").
3. Optional analytics
If you click "Accept all" on the cookie banner, Vercel Analytics is loaded by injecting its script into the page. It counts visits and page views. If you click "Reject optional", the analytics script is not loaded and a blocked entry ("va-s") is not added.
The site does not currently use advertising or remarketing cookies.
4. Third-party technologies
Third parties we rely on may set their own technical cookies or receive standard request metadata (such as your IP address), including:
- Google Fonts (font files and stylesheet delivery).
- Unsplash and Wikimedia (images and landmark photography).
- Supabase (authentication endpoints).
- Stripe (payment checkout, when you choose to pay).
- Vercel (hosting and, if consented, analytics).
- OpenStreetMap Nominatim (location search, when used).
- Pollinations / AI provider (travel assistant requests, when used).
- Formspree (contact form submissions, when used).
These are governed by the providers' own privacy policies. We do not control the cookies they may set.
5. Consent and preference controls
A cookie consent banner is displayed on first visit, offering "Accept all" or "Reject optional". You can change your choice at any time by using "Cookie settings" in the website footer, which clears the stored choice and shows the banner again. This behaviour has been implemented in the website's cookies script.
If you have not made a choice, the banner continues to be shown and analytics are not enabled.
6. Managing cookies and storage
You can also clear or block cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Doing so may sign you out, remove saved briefs and cached images, or limit features such as the travel assistant conversation. Managing storage in this way is a browser-level action rather than a website feature.
